With more than $1B in revenue, Tennant Company operates in 3 geographic business units including the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific. For their Dutch organization with approx. 300 employees (majority of blue collars) based in Uden, we are now recruiting for an HR Manager Netherlands.

As part of the country leadership team, the HR Manager will act as a true HR Business Partner for Operations, Sales & Service and support functions in the Netherlands. The focus of the role will be to design and deliver people management strategies in support of the organisation’s strategic aims. The role will have both strategic and operational focus, providing expert advice and support on all HR matters.
 
The person will be based in the Uden office. He/she will functionally report to the HR EMEA Director and will lead a team of 1 HR Business Partner and one HR Specialist.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • HR areas of responsibility include employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition and retention, payroll management, organization structure, training and communication/deployment of EMEA/corporate policies, procedures and programs for an organization of approx. 300 employees (majority of blue collars).
  • Drive identification of organizational capabilities required to execute the business strategy 
  • Ensure competence and talent availability and support the leaders to manage the talent base 
  • Develop the management capabilities and manage the talent pipeline. 
  • Provide recommendations for training or development programs for the teams under responsibility 
  • Partner effectively with Centers of Expertise (Comp&Ben, HRIS, Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition) towards continuous improvement of the HR function across the company and develop tailored organizational development strategies
  • Lead and leverage Tennant HR processes within the business (Performance Mgt, Salary Planning/Reward management, Succession Planning and Talent Management)
  • Manage formal processes around and cooperate with the local Works Council as the delegate of management
  • Proactively manage HR systems in order to maintain integrity of employee and organizational data
  • Support and drive workforce planning for operations
  • Develop and implement best standard HR policies, processes in line with social legislation
  • Manage the in-house temp agency of the manufacturing site (+50 temps)
  • Keep up to date with Dutch employment legislation
  • Manage, coach and develop local HR team members
  • Act as an active member of the EMEA HR team and lead cross-functional ad-hoc projects
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

EXPERIENCE
  • Breadth of HR knowledge and & business acumen typically obtained with a minimum of 8-10 year experience in a HR business partner/generalist role in a manufacturing site of an international company
  • A proven track record of managing program / project management (including the coordination of multiple internal and external resources)
  • Strong technical and professional knowledge in managing HR, payroll and country social law
  • Experience of working within international teams and with corporate functions
  • Experience in people management or coordination role
  • Experience with Works Council as the delegate of management
  • Experience working successfully within a matrix structured organization is an asset

EDUCATION 
  • Master/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related discipline in which business knowledge and an understanding of human resource practices are gained. 
  • Additionally to the country language (Dutch), excellent verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
