For Legrand AV we are searching for a Financial Accountant. The EMEA head office of Legrand AV is based in Weert, The Netherlands. Due to the growth of the business Legrand AV is now looking for a Financial Accountant to work in the accounting team in Weert. The team consists of 2 financial accountants, 1 AP clerk and 2 AR clerks. In this role, you will report to the Accounting Manager for EMEA.

In this role for 50% of your time you will be responsible for compensation accounting & European VAT compliance. The other 50% you are responsible for controlling and supporting the planning/forecast processes and the monthly / quarterly / annual corporate reporting process . It is a hands-on role for a candidate with a strong drive for continuous process and resource improvements. The ideal candidate has the will and ambition to grow into the job of Manager Accounting

Main duties and Accountabilities:
  • Ensure proper (monthly) compensation accounting via collaboration with Human Resources and outside service providers.
  • Co-own monthly indirect tax compliance for various European VAT registrations;
  • Participate in the monthly / quarterly / annual corporate reporting process according to strict deadlines
  • Provide financial support to the planning/forecast processes via collaboration with budget owners
  • Assist in identifying performance improvement opportunities across the organization
  • Co-own relationships with external stakeholders incl. auditors, government authorities, advisors
  • Drive compliance and demonstrate a strong grasp of internal control
  • Support the wider accounting team i.e. by acting as back-up for the Accounts payable accountant during absence

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Applied Mathematics, or related field, with at least three (3) years of progressing accounting experience; or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Experience and good knowledge of general accounting, payroll accounting and control requirements
